Stolen

My bike was stolen by a student thief
I walked into the city feeling grim
Then you stole my heart,my love,my grief

Chance encounters. meetings, moments brief
I dropped into the library on a whim
My bike was stolen by a student thief

Love is short, then dies the nibbled leaf
Caterpillars,butterflies to come
How you stole my heart,oh love,oh,grief

Rain and wind destroyed our lovers seat
Ignoring this, small bees benignly hum
My bike was stolen,oh you noble thief!

The thief bestowed on me a blessing sweet
The golden ring, the avenues, the dome
How you stole my heart, made love, sowed grief

What is dumb may speak as its time comes
I miss your hand so warm ,then dead and numb
My bike was stolen by an unknown thief
Then you stole my heart,
you taught me grief
