Oh,aye

He never met my eyes.

You knew he never kept appointments.Whete did you put them? On the piano?

Maybe they rolled inside.

Is it a Grand?

A grand, it’s a long time since you bought a piano.

Well, how often do you buy a piano?

It depends on the children.

How?

They hide inside.

Did they meet your eyes?

Only the glass ones

I think I will put a mask on

What sort of mask?

An I mask, of course.

Musings at dawn

The purple mauve of morning fades away

The sky is soft pale blue, the sun is high

My light reflected in the melting dark

Looked like sunshine soft yet strangely stark

Then the light went out and I felt dim.

I cannot see but that is not a sin

I drank more tea and mused upon my life

Good and evil, fighting in the light

Let Love be strong and further love incite

Hope of spring

From Pixel

The sun is bright and golden though it’s low

To the dead it cannot life bestow

But seeds are resting in the fertile earth

Waiting for the moment of new

birth

In the near dead time of winter chill

Have faith and hope but also we need will

Fishing

Poachers caught the geese from off the Lea

They roasted them for Xmas so we hear

If I asked they might get one for me

Not what we desire for Xmas tea

The same is true for Kentish wine and beer

Unless we all get drunk beneath the tree

We could go fishing in the river Lea

If we had a boat then I could steer

The strange river

The water ripples in the early sun

The full dark river hurries to the sea

As secretive as an en-cloistered nun

As powerful as s tiger on the run

As poisonous as a snake out having fun

As other as a stranger is to me

As heavy as a heart when love won’t come
