The root of this word is kinein, Greek for to move.

That same root gives us cinema(moving pictures), kinesthesia(muscle sense), and telekinesis(using mental powers to move objects).

      1. Very much so…..but then the ‘working classes’ have an instinctive bent for innovative picturesque language. 😉

      2. I don’t think it’s instinctive!Maybe working in groups like dustmen and coal miners makes them invent their own new words!
