I cavilled at the cost

My love brought me a rosebud

Yet I cavilled at the cost.

My  love brought me a silken coat

But soon the coat was lost.

No gift he gave,no offering

Did I appreciate.

So he now calls me Nasty Cat

When once I was sweet Kate
