While we are alive and mentally active we must make the most of it by being creative in some way
My sister took up art and sings in a wonderful choir
t.

My sister took up art in later life as did I,.
Art is very absorbing though I find it difficult being more used to words
As we get into middle or old age many of us are afraid. We retire and have no hobbies. Housework and shopping are of not enough,Having a hobby or serious interest takes our mind off ourselves and the bad news about dementia and other problems,?But we are not helped by being afraid. Some of us have cancer.More are terrified of getting it.But do we want to waste what time we have torturing ourselves with fear? But some like my sister take up new hobbies and others take on voluntary work

I really liked this quote from one of Shimon’s replies to the initial post “From what I’ve learned about the subject, the best thing to counter the disadvantages of old age, is humor… and let’s not forget… there are a few advantages too.”
I observe that, however well I try to catalogue my own photos, I never seem to use the right search terms for finding them again! The advantage is that, in searching through my files, the photos I do see bring back many other memories than the one I was actually looking for 🙂
Shimon always finds a way to deal with a problem.I know what you mean about forgetting what label you saved something but then you say you find something else which may be even better.I do that with things in the house.I opened a little parcel right here in my chair and I can’t see the black foam filter I took out.No doubt I’ll find something else as I search. Some days we lose things all day long and others the lost things come back.I blame the Russians 🙂
Those are lovely pictures 😊
If you click on Shimon’s link you can see a really fantastic photo of cherry blossom and also photos of his cat. Thanks for your comment
