Memories of my cat can comfort me
My fingers recollect her little paw
I caressed these paws as she slept on my knee.
She seemed to smile, I watched her teeth and jaw
I wish I were secure like my cat fair
We have dangers both inside and out
I used to hear loud footsteps on the stair
I wonder what my nightmares were about.
Mum was in the kitchen very near
Dad had a big belt I feared its blows
I knew that daddy loved me , is that clear?
But as the Cancer grew its temper showed
I know they’re gone, the cat the parents too
There is no one left ,is that the clue?
