As if on stalks

I’d like to have a sausage for my tea

I’d like a roast potato and some greens

You can share my portion for a fee.

Or bring along some tender runner beans.

I know my  home is modest but it’s mine

My headboard broke off during a cold night.

Of what despair may that  be a   dim sign?

My hope of mending  myself is very slight.

Still I’ll  make a date with you today

Shall we eat our meal with knives and forks?

Chopsticks are de trop, what do you say?

Your eyes are following me as if on stalks.

Some days I feel I should not rhyme  again.

But better that than dwell on  long dead men

Christmas: beating children for not eating

A calander showing the Xmas day

One of my brothers told me that when I would not eat turkey at Xmas when I was 8,our mum made our oldest brother beat me for wasting her money though I am sure my brothers would have eaten it.

I am shocked .. it seems sadistic

I got a catalogue today from an online clothes catalogue where I have shopped before. But now I’ll be lucky to afford a scarf. The scarf is £55!Also they sell dresses which are not washable! How weird is that?

For fruit and veg most supermarkets are expensive.I find Lidl‘s good and much cheaper. The jam is also very good.We do have a market but the quality is variable there

and the queue is long too

Is knowledge like food?

They say a  little knowledge is a dangerous thing yet a great deal  is good.Is knowledge unique in this matter of size?  A little is bad a lot is good…… maybe like kissing?

Many times though, it’s good to know just enough. Then you have to define “enough.”

Is knowledge a bit like food?

How do you know when you have [had] enough? After being sick a few times that will  prove a test….can knowledge make you sick?People certainly though you could have too much book learning, like Hamlet
