For about a year I have believed that my legs have shrunk
Because when I bought some new trousers I had to buy short rather than regular length
I thought that the light switch on the wall was higher than it used to be and I could not reach the dishes in the top cupboard.
Until today I saw on the label of something I had bought last week that what I thought was a short length was actually the same as the previous regular leg length
So my legs are the same length as they have been for many years and mysteriously I can now reach the dishes on the top shelf in the kitchen which I have not been able to reach since I believed my legs had become shorter.
It’s amazing the power of words and language and belief
So if you believe you can’t do mathematics you might be wrong and I could teach you and you would realise how interesting it was as numbers have also got the fascination of their own although I don’t think it’s as powerful as the power of words.
Best of all if you can combine interest in words and language was interest in numbers and abstract patterns and as a matter of fact even knitting patterns are very interesting especially the traditional lace stitches of the Shetland Islands.
Do not abandon hope however old you may be.
