One of those days

First, the glass of my new watch had cracked
Then my credit card had disappeared.
This caused me an alarm like a great smack
And home I came. before new devils leered.

Inside the wallet ,where I keep some notes,
This credit card had found a peaceful rest
My pen though dry decided it would write
Though what I write is nowhere near my best

I wonder if I need a watch at all.
The mobile phone is accurate and clear.
Yet watches have significance past call.
And this one is to my heart rather dear.

On a day when sensing vertigo,
Stay at home, put polish on your toes!

  1. Since I retired, I have hardly ever worn a watch. Time seems to flow on, regardless of whether watched or not 🙂

    1. My husband had clocks everywhere.I found one which keeps going off at 9 pm! So I took the battery out as I can’t see how to turn off the alarm.I hate being wakened by alarms. The main reason I wear a watch is because I use buses and find standing painful so I aim to get there just before the bus is due. Also, it was the last thing my dad gave me when I was 7.He knew he would not be here when I was 21.That was the traditional gift ,along with a front door key. Most younger people don’t wear watches so you are on trend,Mike.:)
