Allowed to play

My mother’s voice showed acidity

As she told me off for my libidity

But it came naturally

From nature to me.

Did she wish me to show men frigidity?

The whole human world would die straight away

If the boys and the girls weren’t allowed to play

We took tar from ‘tween cobbles

And blew  rainbow soap bubbles

But now I’m so past it, alackaday.
