I remember you were sitting by my bed
listening when I told you all my woes
sewing little name tapes on my clothes
I find it hard to think that you are dead
I put my woolen jumper on today
Nearly Christmas and so I wear the red
I remember every word you said
And how with my glass rosary beads you prayed
Yesterday your children came around
They brought me Christmas food and lighted tree
Our sadness and our love unite and free
In the Christmas air, the music sounds
So you are gone in person but you’re here.
In our loving voices and our tears
