The sun in North Norfolk

In Wells North Norfolk looking to the east

I saw the sun rise like a ball of fire

I loved its glory on this holy day

 Yet we’re endangered it may be our pyre

In the evening looking to the west

The sun was falling to its bed,the sea.

From Dawn to Twilight, we could see its path.

And to all the world  its vision’s free.

We were in the attic looking out

The sea was hot,love is a noun

The unplanned lanes, the hollyhocks, The birds

Seeking new perspectives of this town.

We saw the sun roll east to west that day.

I would like to kneel, what do I say?

Wider vision

21686445_10212312128731777_8984201909203987371_n.jpgLight is the main factor in creating images.What we see literally or metaphorically depends on how we look and what  light there is.We can change the focus of our eyes.Relaxed,our eyes have  wide focus taking in a broader view

Narrow highly focused vision.like we use in ,for example.  some parts of mathematics or science  which needs sharp concentration  also leaves out a good deal if we use it to look at the world.Wider vision brings a feeling of joy.It is free from effort.Narrow vision is often goal oriented and so is not creative.for creativity needs to be open to as yet, unknown purposes

In the still green hedge.
I saw the lake and your reflection
And my reflection.;
and did the sparrows see
as the sun shone slantside
over the steeply falling bank?
Dd they see this natural mirror?
And my mind’s mirror
gave me new reflections
in the reverie
Of the dreaming evening,
As I slid slowly down
Into soft slumber;
Trusting the life within,
Trusting you;
Trusting myself;
and in my reflections
I see you too,
smiling in welcome;
smiling the beautiful smile,the true smile of love itself.
The embrace of the dreaming world
comforts
and holds us
as we breathe gently
in the sweet air
of love.

Repeat

In the still green hedge.
I saw the lake and your reflection
And my reflection.;
and did the sparrows see
as the sun shone slantside
over the steeply falling bank?
Dd they see this natural mirror?
And my mind’s mirror
gave me new reflections
in the reverie
Of the dreaming evening,

I

Light touches

Skin soft yet firm

Divides yet unites;

Paradoxically elegant solutions

to these lyrical questions.

How lightly you touch me,

Yet I feel you so much.

In turn I touch you.

Life is a pattern of mutual grace;

we are all touched

By the light and the darkness.

Forgive us,O God,

For forgetting your face.

Sun piercing through red maple leaves

Patterns the flagstone path.

Hear how the blackbirds call,

As we wander,paradise is not for humans.

Though in the end,every living moment

Is paradise on this warm skin of our world,

as it spins again in the void:

And He said:

Let there be Light.

And there was light

The enigma of windows

Houses at one time had only slits to let in light and to let out smoke.This used to be in the roof as a house was just one space in which living was shared.

Nowadays most houses have quite large windows.We like this as we love the light ; we love to look out to see trees or to see people go by.So windows were designed for the people living inside a house.(Prisons were often devoid of light)We all like to see out but something designed for one function—to let in light and air also has consequences that we may not have realized.. if we can see our ,others can see in,for example.I know people do this as I have a foolish neighbor who passes comments on my books.Not only that but she comments on my feet and my clothes.

Some of us put lace curtains on the window to stop people looking in .Buit they also cut down on what we can see out there and the light is reduced.

It’s the same with our ego.We have defense mechanisms to protect us but they also cut down on what we can perceive or receive.They are barriers,

So in both cases we need some defense but too much will handicap us.

This is the enigma of windows and doors.We are prisoners without them and we are vulnerable when we have too many.We must live in a tower or a castle or a house….balanced between security and the excitement of discovery and new perceptions.
