I was having problems and discovered it was because
“accept third party cookies”
was disabled in Settings.I didn’t recall doing that but once I changed it everything went back to normal.
I had even reinstalled Chrome before that to no effect.

Disabling cookies can be a nuisance at times because some websites really do depend on them.
If anyone is not getting e-mail notifications, I should have thought it is more likely to be down to settings in your e-mail client. Try looking in the ‘trash’ folder, since some anti-spam measures can be over-enthusiastic!
