Back on the antibiotics

Please forgive me if I don’t reply to comments in the next few days.My doctor phoned and I have still got a  UTI after 7 weeks. At this rate I’ll have a free Xmas in hospital, maybe just by where His Majesty passed on.I do think he was very selfish dying like that and if I go I shall tell him so.However I am determined to live as I have just got a new washing machine. installed.

Alfred has been in the kitchen and knocked over the bin as  there was a bit of chicken in it.Then he refused to  go out via the cat flap. What a nerve!

When life seems dark

When true love’s gone and doom hangs over head

When life flows like  my blood unto the sea

Then shall I take new lovers to my bed?

And with their carnal touch consoled be?

When my love lies and breaks my woman’s heart.

When life seems grey and rocks bestrew my path.

Then, shall I my life of evil start?

And on this world shall I bestow my wrath?

When true love lies and wrecks all loyalty.

When puzzlement makes all my world seem mad.

Then I shall upend causality

And make myself do deeds which make all glad.

For I have love’s sweet child inside my soul

And I shall tend her till at last she’s whole.

Our own gods

Why can we not choose our personal  god?

And worship them in private in our hearts.

Thus  we would not be struck with their gold rod.

Authoritarian rules would play no part.

I  think it is an error for gods  link

A people and the earth and all the good.

And every newborn child would have to think

As if not part of tree nor its dear bud.

A common God might link us all in love.

Yet  Inquisitions tortured  reviled  Jews.

Surely that was not from  God above,

Who gave  to Eve and Adam power   to choose.

Why Christ himself was not a Christian.

And when God spoke he merely said,I am.

Henotheism is the Word of the Day

This has nothing to do with hens unless you worship them.

noun
\HEN-uh-thee-iz-um\
Definition
: the worship of one god without denying the existence of other gods
Examples
“For Assyrian kings, the god Ashur … was proclaimed to be the true king, and the human king was the god’s regent. In other words, in the ancient world, henotheism was a convenient method for imposing a king’s rule over subject peoples: one all-powerful god means one all-powerful king as well.” — A. C. Black, Canaan and Israel in Antiquity: An Introduction, 2001

“Wishing to find the roots of Jewish monotheism in the cult of Aten, Freud worked freely with ancient Egyptian henotheism: that is, the concept of the sun as one supreme divinity among many.” — David Meghnagi, The International Journal of Psychoanalysis, 2014

Did You Know?
Henotheism comes to us from the German word Henotheismus, which in turn is derived from Greek hen- (“one”) and theos (“god”). Someone who engages in henotheism worships one god but does not deny that there are others. Max Müller, a respected 19th-century scholar, is credited with promoting the word henotheism as a counterpart to polytheism (“belief in or worship of more than one god”) and monotheism (“the doctrine or belief that there is but one God”). Müller also used the related wordkathenotheism, from Greek kath’ hena (“one at a time”), for the worship of several gods successively.

Ontology is a word I dislike

Ontology ‘s got no  image for me

It’s a word  that is linked to the verb “be”

but in science and  statistics

and engine ballistics

We never discussed  life’s latency.

I had seen the  ” ontological proof”

That God must exist in all truth

But up on ‘t   moors wild;

Nature undefiled.

God’s face was sad, bold yet couth.

Until we met Aquinas in class

I believed in  both God and the Mass.

But when I saw they were trying

To prove  he was spying

Out of that church I soon passed.

My reasons were never obscure

Of God I am still perfectly sure.

But the theologians proof

could never lead to truth.

For their axioms  unproved  were impure
