Dull grey and yellow sky the rain comes down
The air is cold, the wind turns round
The afternoon is late, the evening starts
The day divides itself into small parts.
In the morning heavy thoughts of work
Oppress the old who in their bed still lurk.
As the day goes by our hearts will jolt
Like trains on ancient rails, like headless colts.
Life should be like Mozart,Wagner shouts.
But no one else knows what its all about.
We don’t choose the rhythm yet have to move
The rain keeps time, but can our lives improve?
The sky is dark and grey we need the rain.
I like to watch it thrash the window pans.
