God is, alright Jack?

This sentence has  very different meaning without the comma in that place

God is alright,Jack

Apparently people in the UK hate commas. Why?

  1. Commas aren’t easy. Too many, and they make reading tedious, Too few, and the text becomes ambiguous. You can use them formally, to separate subordinate clauses or, more casually,, to follow the rhythms of speech. These two approaches often seem to conflict.
