Like flowers fade, from summer clothes we part

The light of lamps and candles warms the heart
The sun is low in August, wondrous sky
Autumnal  shades of red  cause no remark

Like flowers fade, from summer clothes we part
We thought the sun would stay, .we told a lie
The light of lamps and candles helps the heart

Yet in my breast I feel a pain quite sharp
Have I any hope for future life?
Autumnal  shades of red on leaves will start

The language of my sorrow,I shall parse
Why can’t I  a woman have a wife?
The light of lamps and candles stays the heart

Correlation is confused with cause
We are all neurotic as we strive
Autumnal  shades of red  so bright  so right

Is God dead  or  is  he cold, unloved?
See the beggars dying in his dust
The light of lamps  in windows I’m outside
Hollows out my life;  with  truth I lie
