Beware of a PC magazine just out with a free disc containing IOLO software

#HoneysuckleSome people maY recall that I wrote about  this company and how they caused me a  lot of trouble.

DO NOT USE THIS DISC OR ANY OTHER FROM THEM

I found that although I discovered they are a scam  and got my money back in 2013 I found they were taking more moneyin 2014 although I would not have signed up.My credit card company refused me the right to not pay so I contacted IOLO and with a bit of arguing they took my name off.

What hey do is run a free scan which finds a hundred things wrong and then they sell you the stuff to deal with it

I GOT SEVERE BRONCHITIS  AND HAD TO GET A NEW HARD DRIVE ON MY COMPUTER

There are sad stories of poor elderly people being cheated .. look on the net

.BUT WHY IS A COMPUTER MAGAZINE GIVING OUT THIS DISC?

DO NOT TRUST THOSE MAGAZINES… OR THEIR REVIEWS UNLESS SEVERAL  GIVE THE SAME RECOMCMENDATION AND EVEN THEN BEWARE FREE OFFERS OF ANYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER

  1. Yes, all magazines are expensive.Luckily I find I can no longer read women’s mamagines!I used to like them but maybe when I was working it was a change. The emphasis on appearance is
    annoying.
For the computer it’s cheaper to buy a book on Windows 10 probably/For now I’m just winging it.. seems better than 8.1 so far plus better images

  2. There was a time when there was lots of good free software on the web – people liked to share their work, as some still like to share ideas in blogs. Then people realised they could make money by re-packaging these good programs together with a load of advertising c**pware, which gradually became more devious and malicious. I guess that the magazines have a hard time nowadays and may be resorting to similar tactics. If you’re dying – make a fast buck before you go!!!

    1. iAnd if a “reptutable”magazine is giving away this disc it seems like the magazine may not be selling.
sometimes they do give away good things…I once got a small fork and trwoel with a gardening magazine. That’s a lot better than using a dodgy disc.:)

      1. Magazines have got so expensive that it’s not surprising that most people look to the web for information. Of course, it’s not really ‘free’ but has to be paid for by advertisers. Nowadays, advertising is by far the largest ‘tax’ that we all pay!
